What's your chocolate cake recipe?
We said to use your favourite chocolate cake recipe when you are making the black forest cake. So now we want to know what that is! Is it a Mud cake or a Sachertorte? Maybe you are happy with a supermarket sponge cake. To see other peoples input, look below. By the way an authentic Black Forest Cake recipe uses 6 eggs, a cup of sugar beaten together about 10 minutes with vanilla essence. Now alternately fold in 4oz (125g) melted chocolate and a cup of flour. Bake in 2 pans at 150°C 350°F 15 minutes. Maybe you have another favourite cake, perhaps Simnel cake for Easter, or even Christmas cake?
